Foreign Transcript Evaluation
Vine University requires all transcripts from institutions outside the United States and Korea, submitted for admissions purposes or transfer credit review, to be evaluated by a professional evaluation service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluator (AICE). Applicants must submit the evaluation report and an original copy of the transcript to Vine University.
Admission Criteria
We determine the admission on the basis of academic records, assessment of three references, involvement in Christian service, and educational and vocational goals. Each applicant will be asked to participate in an online interview with the admissions committee. The interview will focus on compatibility of the applicant’s educational and vocational goals with the intended program of study as well any special needs (financial, personal, emotional).
I. General
Acceptance to any degree program at University will be granted only after evaluation of the application, reference form, and official transcripts has been made. The application must be accompanied by the appropriate fee.
An application is valid for one year. If the student does not supply the information required for admission within the year, or if he/she is accepted and does not complete at least one course within the year, he/she must reapply.
II. Master’s Programs
All Master’s programs require satisfactory completion of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Bachelor’s degree equivalency is understood in the sense that the applicant has satisfactorily completed 120 credit hours of college level work in which he/she received “C” or better.
III. Doctoral Programs
All doctoral programs require satisfactory completion of a Master of Divinity degree program or its equivalent. This equivalency is understood in the sense that the applicant has satisfactorily completed 87 credit hours of seminary level work in which he/she received “B” or better.
IV. Transfer Students
A student desiring to transfer from another college may apply for admission by submitting the forms provided. Official transcripts from the high school attended, and all colleges or institutions of learning attended following graduation from high school must also be submitted. Such transcripts must indicate courses entered, in progress, or completed. Results of aptitude and other special tests were taken and evidence of standing should also be indicated on the transcript.
V. Transfer of Credits
The university will consider the acceptance of college credits from all schools that meet standard educational guidelines. We will review credits from good Christian schools and will transfer in as many credits as are comparable to our programs.
VI. Conversion of Credits
There are many outstanding Bible Institutes within the body of Christ that cannot offer college credits but offer either Institute credits and/or continuing Educational Credits. The university can convert these credits into actual semester credit hours upon request and verification of program content.
VII. Life Experience Credits
Men and women that have dedicated themselves to the work of the Gospel should receive Life Experience Credits for those years of service to God. To qualify, a student must be at least 30 years of age and have been in the ministry for a minimum of 5 years.
Based upon the information given by the student, University can award per year of full-time Christian service. Regardless of the number of credits transferred, converted, or allowed for Life Experience.
